Gina calls to get on with it

GINA Rinehart has called for a swift end to the crippling paralysis in Canberra to protect Australia’s economy, jobs and living standards.

Australia’s richest woman spoke out as the chaos from Saturday’s knife-edge election threatens to continue for months, putting the nation’s triple-A credit rating at risk and creating uncertainty for households and jobs.

The mining magnate, a friend of Deputy PM Barnaby Joyce, said Australia’s newly elected politicians must get on with the job of governing. “I truly hope our elected members consider the needs of the whole of Australia … and act urgently to cut the onerous burdens of government approvals, permits, licences and compliance, in the interests of maintaining and raising living standards, jobs and growth,” she said.
