CRUSHED IT – FIRST ORE AT SANJIV RIDGE

Atlas Iron is pleased to announce that first ore has been crushed at its new mine, Sanjiv Ridge.

This major milestone, in the new mine development, was reached on Wednesday 3 February 2021, ahead of schedule.

Atlas Iron CEO Sanjiv Manchanda said “Congratulations to all our team members, including both Atlas Iron staff and our valued contractors, for their hard work and dedication to hit this target ahead of schedule.  Now, with first ore crushed, we are focusing on building the product stockpile and commencement of road haulage.”

“In a week that has been tough on West Australian who have faced a trifecta  crisis of a COVID-19 5 day lock down , Pilbara cyclone and severe bushfires, we at Atlas Iron continue to be incredibly proud of the contribution our company and the broader industry is making to the economy, through the provision of jobs to hard working West Australians as well as tax, royalty and licensing revenue.”

Sanjiv Ridge is set to extend the life of Atlas operations by 5 to 6 years with an expected 4-5 Mtpa of lump and fines to be hauled by road to the Utah Point stockyard at Port Hedland.
Sanjiv Ridge was recently renamed from Corunna Downs after Atlas Iron’s CEO Sanjiv Manchanda in recognition of his long service across the Hancock Prospecting Group of companies. The new mine site, is due to be in full operation in the third quarter FY2021 and is located north east of Atlas Iron’s existing mining operation, Mount Webber.
